Biography: I originally trained as an actor and worked in the professional theatre, television and films, for twelve years. I then went to university and gained a first class degree in Classics and went on to write a PhD thesis in Ancient Greek politics, which was published by Oxford University Press. At the same time I qualified as a Blue Badge London guide and for nearly thirty years I have worked as guide and tour manager of the British isles, Italy and France. In the meantime I have publsihed seven novels (under a pen name) and most recently have been lecturing on cruise ships.
